The literature reports that Pine oil has a strong fresh aroma. Historically, the principal uses of Pine oil were in the treatment of respiratory and urinary tract infections and muscular pain. It is an extremely powerful pulmonary antiseptic, known to be helpful for bronchitis and all coughs. Petitgrain is obtained from the leaves of the bitter orange tree, whereas Neroli is obtained from the flowers. Its fragrance resembles Neroli, although it is not as bitter. The literature reports therapeutically, Petitgrain is similar to Neroli but less sedative.
